Community Legal Services (CLS)
Our legal clinics is a student led program which offer assistance to community members facing legal challenges in the areas of Bankruptcy, Elder & Health Law, and Immigration who are unable to afford private attorneys. Under the supervision of experienced faculty, you'll collaborate with law students in a professional, law-office environment.
We provide pro bono (free) legal assistance in the following areas:
- Bankruptcy (Chapter 7 cases only)
- Elder and Health Law (for seniors age 60+)
- Immigration
We are unable to assist with legal issues outside these areas.
To qualify for legal services, you must:
- Have a low to modest income
- Live in Sacramento County
Be 60 years or older (for Elder and Health Law Clinic services)

CLS is not accepting walk in requests for legal assistance. To receive legal assistance, you must start off with an intake.
For an intake, please call 916 340-6080 and leave a detailed message including:
- Your full name
- A contact number where you can be reached
- A brief description of the legal assistance you're seeking (e.g., bankruptcy, elder law, immigration)
