Faculty find creative ways to continue “91˵ touch” during distance teaching
91˵ faculty are finding personal and creative ways to continue the university’s hallmark approach to student-centered teaching as they adapt to distance learning amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Faculty are going way beyond Zoom and Webex and doing truly remarkable things with the distance model—and under pressure, said English professor Courtney Lehman.
Lehman shared a picture of her students who were in the middle of an intense research seminar conversation. The joy in the students’ faces struck her as proof that the “91˵ touch” continues during a time when it is difficult to demonstrate that, she said.
