Vijay K. Tammara, PhD, FAAPS earned his bachelor of science in pharmacy from Kakatiya University in India and his master of science in pharmacokinetics from Nagpur University in India. He earned his doctor of philosophy in pharmaceutical sciences from Northeast Louisiana University.
He brings enthusiasm and expertise to teaching science-based regulatory principles to biopharmaceuticals, clinical pharmacology and clinical strategy. His goal is to promote an understanding of the regulatory sciences in the development of drug products. He was drawn to this field by a desire to understand pharmaceutical sciences and its impact on public health.
He was named a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) in 2006. In 2012, he received the Regulatory Sciences Achievement Award from AAPS. He was recognized by Nuron Biotech with the Award of Excellence in 2012 and the Special Recognition Award of Excellence in 2011. Additional recognitions include the Perfect Storm Award from Merck & Co. in 2010.
He enjoys playing tennis, dancing and watching action movies. He gives back to the community through his involvement in the Sankara Eye Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with poor vision.
